Associates in Gastroenterology wish to congratulate Drs. Cesario, Garza, and Lunt for being selected as “Top Docs” in 2022. Our practice is honored by the recognition, and we wish to thank the medical community, our patients, and especially our staff who work behind the scenes day-in and day-out. Dr. Cesario continues to be recognized as the top hepatologist in our community. She studied at Washington University, and then completed her medical education and training at the University of Colorado and the Cleveland Clinic. She remains the only transplant hepatology trained and boarded physician in Colorado Springs. She treats the entire spectrum of liver disease with compassion and excellence in her very in-demand clinical practice.
Dr. Garza completed his undergraduate and medical education at Vanderbilt University. He has a special interest in esophageal disease and GI malignancy. He also has performed over a thousand endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures at Penrose Hospital, where he serves as the current Chair of the PSF Credentials Committee. He currently serves as the president of our practice and has an interest in GI practice management and improving delivery of care. He regularly attends national meetings and works with elected officials and representatives in Congress as part of the Digestive Health Physicians Association.
Dr. Lunt offers our patients expertise in multiple areas of advanced endoscopy, as well as offering life-changing therapies for fecal incontinence. He is a native Coloradoan, avid skier, kayaker, and outdoor enthusiast. He has been a physician leader for many years, directing our endoscopy center since its inception in 2005, and in a recurring role as the Physician Director for the GI labs at Penrose and St. Francis hospitals.
Associates in Gastroenterology has been providing excellent care in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Colorado Springs for 42 years. We currently have eleven physicians and six advanced-practice providers, all based out of our two offices in Colorado Springs. We treat the whole spectrum of GI disease. We offer access to dietician services, treatment of pelvic floor disorders and incontinence, advanced motility assessment, and non-invasive ways to assess liver disease. We have two locations, including our main office on the Audubon Medical Campus, and a second office in the new St. Peregrine Pavilion, on the campus of St. Francis Medical Center. We have two ambulatory surgical centers where we perform endoscopic procedures at each of our locations that are fully open and providing patients with phenomenal customer service and personalized yet efficient and quality care. Our newest endoscopy center at the St. Peregrine Pavilion, which opened in the Fall of 2021, has greatly expanded our capacity. This allows us to schedule patients for routine upper and lower endoscopies in a more timely manner and better serve our community and referring providers. Our original endoscopy center, Endoscopy Center of Colorado Springs, ECCS, has been providing excellent outpatient endoscopic care since 2005, and annually has 99-100% patient satisfaction scores. We pride ourselves on a compassionate experience for our patients, with providers practicing the highest level of clinical gastroenterology.
