Tim Bussey is a longtime prominent Colorado Springs litigation attorney known nationwide as a top litigator in the country. Mr. Bussey specializes in serious auto accident cases, criminal defense, and DUI defense. He has over 31 years of experience litigating cases throughout Colorado including courts-martial and federal cases. Mr. Bussey argued a murder case applying Colorado’s “Make My Day Law” before the Colorado Supreme Court and prevailed in changing Colorado Law. He is a former active duty Air Force judge advocate and former deputy district attorney in El Paso and Teller counties. Mr. Bussey is a requested speaker teaching other lawyers from around the country at national seminars and was the first Colorado attorney to achieve the American Chemical Society Lawyer-Scientist designation.

Prior to that, Mr. Bussey exposed testing problems at the Colorado Springs Metro Forensic Laboratory in Colorado Springs. His uncovering of laboratory errors was a key component to a decision by the United States Supreme Court in Bullcoming v. New Mexico, 131 S. Ct. 2705 (2011). Mr. Bussey is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has obtained seven-figure resolutions for his clients on very serious personal injury cases.
Tim Bussey has been selected by the National Trial Lawyers Association as a Top 100 Trial Attorney since 2007. He is the nationally published co-author of Utilizing Forensic Science in Criminal Cases, Strategies for Defending Sex Crimes, Defending DUI Vehicular Homicide DUI Cases, Defense Strategies for Drug Crimes, and Trends in DUI Discovery. He is also a co-author of the Colorado DUI Defense Manual. Mr. Bussey is a former board member of the DUIDLA (DUI Defense Lawyers Association), a life member of
